Late Sunday Night, President Donald Trump took to twitter to congratulate the Kansas City Chiefs on their Super Bowl LIV Win.
“Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on a great game, and a fantastic comeback, under immense pressure,” Trump tweeted. “You represented the Great State of Kansas and, in fact, the entire USA, so very well. Our Country is PROUD OF YOU!”
The tweet, which has since been deleted, demonstrated that the president was unaware that the Kansas City Chiefs are actually from Kansas City, Missouri – Not the state of Kansas.
However, many other Americans are also unaware of this fact.
After a night of silence, President Trump tweeted early Monday that he had come up with a solution to rectify the problem. He now plans on forcing the Kansas City Chiefs to relocate to Kansas in order to restore some semblance of sense to the world.
“OK, I goofed. Everybody saw it!” The president tweeted, “But after having a long talk with my administration, we’ve come to an agreement that having the Kansas City Chiefs exist anywhere but Kansas is nonsensical. So congratulations state of Kansas, you’re getting your first professional football team!”
UPDATE: Trump just sent out a follow up tweet: “Now that I think about it, it doesn’t make sense to allow Kansas City, Missouri to continue existing either, especially now that it doesn’t even have a football team to justify its existence. So congratulations state of Kansas, you’re getting a Kansas City II!”
